Each year, I try to post some discussion post prompts, in case you need some inspiration for your book blog!

Here are some from the past:

Discussion Post Ideas for 2023

  1. What is the most supportive thing you have seen a publisher do for book bloggers or other bookish influencers? What do you think publishers should do more of?
  2. Do you follow bookish news, outside of reading other book blogs? Do you read sources likes Publishers Weekly? Why or why not?
  3. What book character do think readers frequently misunderstand?
  4. What do you think of the current marketing for books relying heavily on “vibes” and “tropes”? Are there some vibes or tropes you particularly like or dislike?
  5. Have you ever suffered from blogging burnout? What caused it? What made you start blogging again?
  6. What do you think of the idea of negative reviews being “constructive criticism”?
  7. Did you ever read a book in school that you initially liked/disliked and then changed your mind about the book once you had a class discussion about it?
  8. If you could design a book box, what book and what items would be in it?
  9. What are some books where the protagonist has an awesome pet?
  10. Are there any book characters that remind you strongly of yourself? Do any remind you of someone you know?
  11. What books remind you of spring?
  12. Who are some of the greatest villains in literature?

    Ahh love these! Especially number 7 – I don’t really remember the books I read when I was younger, but I can definitely think of some books I haven’t liked now that I’ll probably appreciate more when I’m older 😆
