10 Blogs to Check Out This October

Books, Vertigo, and Tea

Danielle is incredibly friendly and always up for a chat in the comments.  She reviews anything from YA to contemporary literature to graphic novels, and always seems willing to try something new.  Her discussion posts are often vulnerable and thought-provoking.

Bridget and Books

Bridget is an avid fantasy reader who adores Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.  However, you can also find classic reviews on her blog.  And she has a beautiful Instagram.

Cat on the Bookshelf

Carrie reviews YA, along with some adult literature.  She also is interested in fan fiction, so you will find the occasional post recommending reads such as “Fanfics Where Harry Potter Has New Powers.”

Coffee Ring Books

Sara writes that she is a Hufflepuff and, of course, a book lover.  She reads an eclectic mix of books including YA, nonfiction, and classics, which makes her blog the perfect place to find whatever genre you’re interested in!

Emerald City Book Review

Lory covers a wide range of genres, especially classics, contemporary fiction, and even children’s books.  Her reviews are always in-depth and she also writes insightful discussion posts.

Falling Letters

Not many bloggers review middle-grade books, but Jenna does, along with a variety of other genres.  She’s also a Tolkien fan and writes wonderful posts like this on one her first reading of The Silmarillion.

The Hermit Librarian

Harker’s blog emphasizes children’s books from MG to YA, though you can sometimes also find reviews on adult books.  If you leave a comment, you’ll receive a reply!

La La in the Library

La La in the Library features a mix of reviews, especially on children’s books from middle-grade to YA.  La La is very friendly and will certainly engage with comments!

Milliebot Reads

Milliebot features an eclectic mix of genres from children’s to adult, typically focusing on the quirky or weird.  I especially enjoy her series featuring cover art.

The Orangutan Librarian

The Orangutan Librarian reviews an eclectic mix of genres and posts lively, honest discussion posts that are not afraid to look at some potentially controversial topics.  If you enjoy thoughtful discussions with a bit of snarky humor, this is the blog for you!

Sara at Coffee Ring Books just stopped by my blog recently, and I was happy to meet her! I often feel like I’m the one chasing new blog friends, so it was good to know I’m writing something that draws in readers.

Thank you for sharing this list! I’m familiar with about half of these bloggers already– but it’s so hard to find bloggers which I connect well with, it’s nice to have recommendations from one of my favorite blogs! 🙂

Ooh there are some here that I know and a few I don’t! The ones I don’t I will go check out. Books, Vertigo & Tea and LaLa are regular stops for me. 🙂

No worries. I am dreadfully behind, too. I am trying to track down all the comments on my own blog that have escaped me. Visiting around has not happened much lately. Sigh.
