Omg a Tolkien event?!? THIS SOUNDS GREAT!! 😀 I’ve only read one Tolkien book (shame on me 😛 ) and I’d really love to read the Hobbit eventually. I feel like it’s the kind of classic every bookworm should try, right?!

Ooh, which one have you read? The Hobbit was actually not my favorite when I first read it, but it’s really grown on me with re-reading.

I had no idea about this event but just kinda stumbled on it. Great idea! Looking forward to all the posts.

And i would probably pick The Silmarillion!

I think I’d pick Sir Gawain and the Green Knight/Pearl/Sir Orfeo. Never read it but would love to. Thanks you for the chance!

A Tolkien reading event?! I wish I’d found this earlier. -_- Well, I have something to look forward to next year.

    Anyway…

While I’d want any Tolkien book, I’m very interested in The Silmarillion, and would love to get my hands on a copy.
I loved The Hobbit, and plan to reread it–soon, hopefully. And I have The Lord of the Rings (#1-3); though I haven’t read it yet. (I know. Sometimes I just can’t understand myself.) And I’d recently added The Story of Kullervo and Unfinished Tales to my ever-growing TBR list a while back. ( I can’t believe The Story of Kullervo comes out tomorrow! Feels like I’ve been waiting forever.)
Maybe this will encourage to read more Tolkien. I can’t wait to read your other posts for this event. ^_^

I know it’s a bit late, but I thought I’d share these links. I found them earlier this year, and thought fellow Tolkien fans might appreciate them. If they haven’t already done so.

Two poems written Tolkien were recently discovered:

And recordings of Tolkien reading and singing excerpts from The Lord of the Rings:

    Until next time

I borrowed the Hobbit from a friend a few years ago, but never finished reading it, so it would be good to actually finish the book!
