Lord of the Rings Read-Along: Second Discussion

LotR Button

Today Stephanie from Chasm of Books  discusses Hobbits and gossip.  What makes the Hobbits so peaceful in comparison to some of the other races in Middle-Earth?  How does their love of peace define Frodo and affect his personal journey?  Do you think this emphasis on peace is important thematically to the book?  And, remember, to avoid spoilers for those who have not yet read The Lord of the Rings, we are focusing on chapters 1-5 of The Fellowship of the Ring.  Feel free to join our discussions, even if you have not officially signed up for the read-along.  The January schedule is below.

This is a great idea. I am always happy when I see people blogging about Tolkien, and providing opportunities for people who haven’t read the books to discuss as they read.
