This is the first time I will be participating in Bloggiesta, an event designed to encourage bloggers to update and improve their blogs. I’ll be busy with other things for much of Friday, but should be able to participate more actively on Saturday and Sunday.
My To-Do List:
This is continuously growing as I find great ideas on other blogs! I will bold the ones I have completed.
- Reply to outstanding comments on Pages Unbound
- Comment on some other blogs
- Reply to any emails
- Work on adding submissions for our Tolkien Reading Day survey (Feel free to participate! Just tell us what you like about Tolkien!)
- Write outstanding book reviews (three at this point)
- Add new reviews to our archives list
- Schedule feature posts like “If You Like, Then Read”
- Schedule some memes like Top Ten Tuesday
- Find authors to ask for interviews
- Try creating a Facebook cover image
- Backup the blog
I am going to check out the Tolkien post right now! Here is my Bloggiesta List!

I like your list of those clean-up items that take time but are hopefully easy to accomplish. I am a new WordPress follower and participating in bloggiesta as well. I hope to get some of my bigger goals accomplished this wknd, but we’ll see how it goes. Here’s my list if you’d like to stop by…http://momssmallvictories.com/bloggiesta-2013-goals/

oh I know what you mean, I love to cross things off my list. I am betting I will get distracted, end up doing something that’s not on my list, add it to my list later just so I can cross it off! 🙂 thanks for visiting me and hope to chat with you later.

Hi there, just checking in to see how you are coming with your bloggiesta goals. Glad you were able to finish some of the mini-challenges, I find those the most valuable, things I don’t normally think to do myself but very helpful. I still haven’t added StumpleUpon but did some of the others. Here’s my update list http://momssmallvictories.com/bloggiesta-2013-goals/. Following your blog with bloglovin and WP reader so I’m sure not to miss anything. Glad to have met you and good luck with the rest of the weekend.

Briana, check out Parajunkee Design as she’s got some free Facebook cover pages for book bloggers, just do a Google search as there are a lot of designers that do FB cover pages freebie 😀
That’s one of the things I must do is comment back, but I can’t seem to get my threaded comments working on my Blogger default so I’m looking for an alternative to the Blogger Default comment app…any suggestions?
My Bloggiesta Goals

I love the Bloggiesta weekends…I always get so much done and end up feeling re-energized about my blog and blogging. I also love visiting everyone to see what they are working on – it ends up with me adding to my list, but that’s ok!
Good luck with your to-do list!

It’s not something we’ve really done before, so it’s a new experience. Three of the five we contacted already said yes, so I’m feeling pretty confident now!

Happy Bloggiesta!

Top Ten Tuesday might be one of my favorite memes. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to come up with ten books, but the lists are pretty fun!

Great list! Every time I visit someone’s to-do list, I see something I want/need to add to mind. Sometimes I think I could just work on Bloggiesta activities throughout the whole year!! Had to keep my list short for the weekend, though, as it’s hard to do this AND keep an eye on my daughter 🙂
Here is my Bloggiesta To-Do List, such as it is.

I keep adding things, too! I think I had my own mini-Bloggiesta earlier this week because I did a lot for the blog, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to think of new things. I was definitely wrong! Good luck with your goals!

Sounds like it’s going well! You must have been emailing a lot, looking at your list. As part of Bloggiesta, I emailed authors that sent me review requests and turned them all down, except for one.
Have a good day today.

Yeah, we’re often in the habit of not replying to requests at all. At least, we don’t reply to ones offering us books we clearly stated in our review policy we don’t read. If it is something we would read, and the author took the time to find our names and our blog name and write a nice email, we’ll answer back.

I have a lot more than three outstanding reviews, but I am trying to get through them one day at a time – no need to tire myself out writing them all at once. But I did get a few other useful things done on my blog. 🙂

I wrote one, but then I read a book, so I’m still three behind! I agree with sticking to a manageable pace, though. Good luck with the rest of bloggiesta!
